Electricity Choices
Milford’s Program will have different products to let you find the right balance of cost and renewable electricity. Renewable electricity will be certified by purchasing and retiring Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), the accepted legal instrument used to track renewable energy generation and to substantiate claims of renewable energy use. Milford Standard
To start, the default product plans to include 5-15% more renewable electricity (from MA Class I RECs) than required by Massachusetts. The exact amount of additional renewable electricity will be finalized during the bidding process. Read more about Massachusetts renewable energy requirements and MA Class I RECs.
Milford Plus
The Milford Plus product plans to include additional renewable energy (from MA Class I sources) to total 100% renewable energy. Read more about Massachusetts renewable energy requirements and MA Class I RECs.
Milford Basic
Meeting the minimum state renewable energy requirements. No additional renewable energy content. Read more about Massachusetts renewable energy requirements and MA Class I RECs.
Exact percentages will be finalized based upon prices secured in the electricity bidding process.
Future savings cannot be guaranteed because Basic Service rates change every six months for residential and commercial customers and every three months for industrial customers
